ST1952: NEX

ASHFA MADIHA BINTI SUDIRMAN UiTM

NEX’ is a multifunctional, portable, three-fold laptop stand designed to enhance user productivity, comfort, and sustainability, particularly among students and working professionals. The product combines ergonomic support with integrated smart technologies, including a detachable hybrid power bank powered by solar and kinetic energy, a built-in cooling fan, dual warm LED lighting, and a Bluetooth speaker. Collectively, these features address common user challenges such as poor posture, inadequate lighting, device overheating, and limited access to power sources; issues that are especially prevalent during travel or outdoor use.

The development of NEX’ is both relevant and timely, given the increasing prevalence of remote learning and flexible working arrangements, alongside a growing consumer preference for sustainable and energy-efficient solutions. By incorporating renewable energy sources, the product contributes to environmental sustainability while reducing reliance on conventional electricity. Preliminary market observations and test marketing findings suggest a positive level of consumer acceptance, particularly among users who prioritise multifunctionality, portability, and eco-conscious design.

This project further demonstrates the technical feasibility and commercial viability of NEX’ through the application of a structured New Product Development (NPD) framework, encompassing stages such as research and development, prototyping, and test marketing. With continued refinement, scalability in production, and broader market penetration, NEX’ exhibits strong potential for commercialisation as a practical, sustainable, and value-driven smart accessory aligned with contemporary digital lifestyles.
