Team: Kinetic Spark Guardians | School: SJKC Pei Yu, Malaysia
The Challenge: How do you cool a classroom when air conditioning is too expensive? SJKC Pei Yu is trapped by high Commercial Electricity Tariffs and a "Bureaucratic Trap" that makes rewiring nearly impossible. After PE class, students are left in the heat because the school budget cannot support higher utility bills.
The Innovation: KineticStep AI: Cool Spark turns school hallways into a power plant. We designed a Kinetic AI Tile that harvests energy from footsteps. Every 5mm step generates roughly 5 Watts, which is stabilized and stored in a battery system.
The Smart Solution: Controlled by an AI Hub (the school’s "super-smart brain"), the system uses environmental sensors to monitor temperature and rainfall. When the roof gets too hot, the AI uses our harvested "magic electricity" to trigger smart sprinkler nozzles that cool the building for free. It also manages wastewater and automates lighting to ensure zero energy waste.
The Impact: This decentralized, carbon-negative system is built to last 20 years. It bypasses expensive infrastructure costs, saving school funds for education. At SJKC Pei Yu, we are proving that every step is a spark for change.
