Recent incidents, such as the death of a visually impaired man who fell onto LRT tracks in Kuala Lumpur, highlight the urgent need for safer mobility aids. Smart Walk is a sensor-enabled walking stick designed to improve the safety, independence, and emergency response for blind individuals. Its objectives are to detect environmental hazards using ultrasonic, water, and motion sensors; provide real-time voice alerts for navigation; and automatically notify caregivers with a live Google Maps location via Telegram during a fall. Smart Walk aims to reduce injuries, enhance confidence, and making daily mobility safer, more reliable for the visually impaired.
