YEW TZE HUNG SMK TAMAN SEA
Humans consume nearly 4 billion eggs every day. This means that around 3.5-3.8 billion eggshells are wasted daily!! Thus almost 90% of humans regard eggshells as trash. So they throw the eggshells away, majority of the eggshells end up in landfills. Landfills release methane which is the number 1 contributor to global warming. Not only that landfills take up a lot of land, which will cause loss of habitat. Instead of harming our ecosystem by throwing away eggshells, we should turn that waste into something useful—like plates! Eggshells are packed with important minerals with calcium carbonate being the main star. In this project, let us take a deep dive into how eggshells can be reused to make biodegradable plates that are good for the environment. These plates help reduce plastic pollution and teach us the importance of recycling, while creating an innovative solution for environmental problems.
