YS1856: AUTOMATED PESTICIDES SPRAYER

MUHAMMAD HARIS IKHWAN BIN MOHAMED MALIKI Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Jalan Tiga

This project aims to develop an automated pesticide sprayer that can be used for fruiting vegetable plants such as chilli pepper and brinjal. The main objective of this project is to provide a cost-effective and efficient solution to pesticide spraying, which is essential for the growth and health of fruiting vegetable plants. The automated sprayer will be equipped with an Arduino Uno microcontroller as its main processing unit, and a set of ultrasonic sensors that enable it to recognize and respond to changes in its environment. The ultrasonic sensor is used to detect the distance between the plant and the sprayer. The system will be programmed to activate the sprayer when the plant is within a specific range of the sensor and deactivate it when the plant moves away. The project's outcome is expected to reduce the manual labour required for pesticide spraying, minimise chemical exposure to humans, and decrease the overall cost of pesticide application. This project has the potential to contribute to the sustainable growth of fruiting vegetable crops and improve the quality of produce.
