PR2230: WINPIEGEN (WINDMILL PIEZOELECTRIC GENERATOR)
MASNIYATI BINTI TENRENG SMK TITINGAN TAWAU
The power generation of global electric often relies on non-renewable energy source from fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas, and diesel. These energy sources will eventually deplete over time as they are limited. Therefore, the use of renewable energy sources is preferable because they are inexhaustible and more environmentally friendly. Consequently, a renewable energy generator using piezoelectric materials is developed by converting mechanical energy into electrical energy. Piezoelectric materials are installed on a windmill, generating voltage that can charge rechargeable batteries due to the fact that they exceed the electromotive force (EMF) of 1.5V. The charged batteries can then can be utilized as a power supply for devices that use low voltage, such as smartphones, smartwatches, and headphones.
