The Young Scientists team from SJKT Tun Sambanthan USJ presents the IoT-Based Gas Leak Detector, a life-saving innovation designed to prevent gas-related accidents in households, restaurants, and factories. Gas leaks, caused by faulty tanks, hoses, stove malfunctions, natural factors, and human error, pose severe risks, including explosions. This device utilizes an MQ-2 Gas Sensor, a WEMOS-D1 microprocessor, and a Wi-Fi module to detect leaks and alert users via a local alarm and Telegram notifications, ensuring rapid response. Affordable and effective, the invention aligns with SDG Goal 9, promoting innovation and infrastructure for safer living environments.
