This study investigates undergraduate students' perceptions of the MyEC (MyEnglish Companion) online language learning platform at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Malaysia and Universitas Islam Sumatera Utara (UISU) in Indonesia. Following a 14-week implementation period during which students utilised the platform as part of their English language coursework, data was collected through a questionnaire survey administered via Google Forms. The research examined three critical dimensions: interface usability, content accessibility, and perceived educational value. Findings reveal predominantly positive perceptions across both institutions, with 78–95% of respondents reporting favourable experiences regarding ease of use, navigation, content organisation, and learning material findability. Notably, over 89% of students indicated that MyEC enhanced their English language learning experience. While overall satisfaction was high, UiTM students consistently reported slightly higher positive ratings than their UISU counterparts. A small but notable percentage of UISU students (approximately 10–14%) indicated difficulty with basic usability features, suggesting potential areas for improvement. The findings cannot be generalised because of the limited sample size and specific institutional contexts that may not represent broader undergraduate populations in Malaysia and Indonesia. This study contributes valuable insights for educational technology developers and language educators seeking to optimise online learning resources for diverse student populations in Southeast Asian higher education contexts.
