This project demonstrates a low-cost and sustainable method for producing biodegradable bioplastic films using glycerin, pectin, gelatine and distilled water. Guided by Green Chemistry principles, the study aims to reduce plastic pollution by developing eco-friendly alternatives to petroleum-based plastics. The films were prepared using simple and reproducible methods and evaluated for flexibilty, strength, texture and water resistance. Results showed that pectin and gelatine formed biodegrable films, while glycerin improved elasticity and handling properties. The project combines sustainability with materials science and educational accessibility, offering an inexpensive and adaptable prototype. Future work includes improving durability and conducting biodegradaion studies.
