The AI-Green Energy Innovation Framework is a curriculum-aligned project-based learning programme designed for Form 3 Science and Form 4 Chemistry students. The framework integrates Artificial Intelligence tools with green energy concepts from the KSSM syllabus to guide students in designing, developing, and presenting real-world scientific innovations.
Students explore topics such as renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, carbon footprint, chemical reactions related to energy production, and environmental sustainability. Using AI tools, students conduct research, generate ideas, simulate designs, analyse data, and improve prototypes. They then produce an innovation product or solution, for example a model, digital prototype, system design, or community-based solution addressing environmental problems.
The framework functions not only as an innovation project but also as a structured assessment pathway to support Pentaksiran Bilik Darjah (PBD). Students are evaluated through investigation, collaboration, problem-solving, scientific communication, and higher order thinking skills. Assessment evidence includes project reports, reflections, presentations, and product demonstrations, allowing teachers to measure mastery of scientific concepts more authentically than traditional tests.
Through this approach, students shift from passive learning to active creators of knowledge. The programme strengthens scientific thinking, creativity, and environmental awareness while preparing students for STEM innovation competitions. At the same time, it improves engagement and mastery levels in Science and Chemistry, enabling students to demonstrate deeper understanding and achieve higher PBD performance.
