The Bicycle Life Jacket—also known as the Smart Bicycle Safety Jacket—is a multifunctional innovation designed to enhance cyclist safety through improved visibility and communication on the road. Addressing the risks faced by cyclists, especially in low-light or adverse weather conditions, the jacket is equipped with integrated LED illumination and directional signal indicators. These LEDs, controlled manually or wirelessly, clearly communicate left turns, right turns, and stops to other road users, thereby minimizing accidents caused by miscommunication.

Constructed with lightweight, reflective, and waterproof materials, the jacket includes a rechargeable battery pack, microcontroller (Arduino or ESP32), and push-button or wireless control. It also includes the option for an inflatable life jacket, enhancing safety in flood-prone or emergency water situations. Data collected from field tests confirmed the jacket’s effectiveness in improving visibility and user comfort, with long battery life and positive user feedback.

The project stands out for integrating multiple safety features into a single wearable device, offering novelty beyond traditional safety vests. Future plans include GPS, Bluetooth, and solar panel integration.
