The increasing number of electric vehicles (EVs) highlights the need for efficient and organized parking management. However, drivers often face difficulties identifying available parking spaces, which leads to time wastage and traffic congestion. Conventional parking systems usually lack real-time monitoring and smart notification features. Therefore, this project proposes a IoT-Based Smart Parking System for Electric Vehicles to help monitor parking space availability. The system uses sensors connected to a microcontroller with IoT capability to detect whether a parking slot is occupied or empty. The information is then displayed through indicator lights or a simple IoT platform for easy monitoring. The expected outcome is a simple and practical smart parking solution that improves parking efficiency and promotes awareness of smart city technologies among students.
