Vocational education students often struggle with abstract mathematical topics such as calculus due to their preference for hands-on, visual, and context-based learning. Traditional teaching methods may not effectively support their needs, resulting in low engagement and poor conceptual understanding. In response to these challenges, KalkuSteps was developed as a gamified, interactive learning kit aimed at enhancing calculus mastery through visual, step-based, and industry-themed game boards. The main goal of this innovation is to enhance vocational students’ understanding of differentiation and integration using gamified visual tools. Additionally, KalkuSteps integrates digital support through chatbot technology for answer verification and self-paced learning. With its proven success in promoting understanding and motivation, KalkuSteps has strong potential for wider adoption across educational settings.
