ST1905: DERMASCAN: SKIN DISEASE DETECTION USING DEEP LEARNING

Skin diseases affect millions worldwide, and early detection is critical for effective treatment. DERMASCAN is an intelligent, web-based diagnostic system designed to assist users in identifying common skin diseases using deep learning techniques. This system leverages pre-trained convolutional neural networks ResNet-50 to classify skin conditions with high accuracy (91%). Users can upload skin images via a user-friendly interface, receive instant predictions, and access information on the disease and recommended treatments. The platform also stores prediction history and supports admin management of disease and treatment data. Integrated with a MySQL database, DERMASCAN ensures secure user authentication and data tracking. The system aims to enhance public health awareness, provide fast preliminary analysis, and support dermatological services, especially in underserved areas. Evaluation results show that DERMASCAN achieves promising accuracy levels, making it a reliable tool for early skin disease screening.
