Nowadays, plastic food packaging has become a serious global environmental problem because of the increasing plastic pollution and also agricultural waste such as pineapple leaves and coffee grounds that are often burned has caused environmental pollution and resource wastage. Therefore, our innovation, PinePack, aims to transform agricultural waste into biodegradable food packaging as a sustainable alternative to plastic containers.PinePack is developed by using pineapple leaf fibers and combined with natural biodegradable materials and recycled coffee waste to create strong, flexible and eco-friendly packaging.

The production process is first, collecting agricultural waste. Then, extracting natural fibers and processing them into pulp-like material. Lastly, molding them into food packaging products through heat compression technology.Due to the growing global demand for sustainable packaging, PinePack has strong commercialization potential. Besides, PinePack has also lots of potential customers include restaurants, cafes and food delivery businesses seeking environmentally friendly packaging solutions.
