YS1571: The Pilotminator

Yeoh Ean SMJK Jit Sin

The Pilotminator is invented to address accuracy issues in aircraft parking and prevent health problems among marshalling workers. It eliminates the reliance on ground crew by using an Arduino-based system equipped with an ultrasonic sensor, ESP module, LED light, and alarm. When an aircraft approaches within 10 feet (about 3 metres) of the terminal, a warning light and alarm in the cockpit will be activated to alert the pilot. This ensures a precise stopping distance in line with safety recommendations. The Pilotminator not only improves parking accuracy but also reduces long-term health risks for airport staff by minimizing the involvement of manpower.
