Many public toilets, especially in primary schools, are rated below standard, with some receiving as low as one star. One of the common issues identified is  the presence of sand or dirt and urine on toilet floors. Thus, improving the cleanliness of public toilets is a multifaceted challenge that requires coordinated efforts. Our project, FreshStep AutoClean presents an automatic toilet cleaning system focused on improving hygiene by cleaning the toilet floor after every use. The system uses sensors to detect when a user leaves, triggering a mechanism that sprays water evenly across the toilet floor. This helps wash away any spills or dirt, maintaining a clean and sanitary environment. Lastly, ensuring a clean and sanitary toilet facilities is essential not only for students’ health and safety but also encouraging responsible public behaviour, and improving the overall image of our community and education institution.
