This project explores the concept of using algae as a method to generate electricity. The goal is to show that algae can be used as a method of electrical energy production through renewable and natural means. In addition to that, we aim to show the benefits of using algae for electricity generating purposes. We will explain how these concepts, when applied, will affect the surrounding environment as well as how it can be applied to urban areas to improve certain situations in those populated areas. The technology used is known as Biophotovoltaic (BPV) cells, which is still is a less common technology found in today's market. By doing this research and experimentation, we hope that the usage of BPV technology, specifically with the utilisation of algae, can be expanded to the global community regardless of financial standing to provide a more sustainable source of electricity for humanity.
