FaceCare AI is an AI-based assistive system designed to help elderly and physically impaired patients communicate their needs using facial expressions. Many patients are unable to speak due to medical conditions, making it difficult for them to request assistance. This project addresses that challenge by using facial recognition technology to detect expressions such as winking, raising eye brows and mouth movements, and convert them into specific commands.

The system is developed using PictoBlox for AI facial detection and integrated with the Quarky STEM Board to trigger outputs such as alerts and device control. A prototype setup simulates a real-world patient environment, where expressions can activate actions like requesting water, turning on light or emergency help.

Testing results show high detection accuracy, demonstrating the reliability of the system. This project supports healthcare innovation by improving patient independence, safety, and response time. In the future, the system can be enhanced with mobile notifications, IoT integration, and more cost-effective hardware for real-world implementation.
