PR1344: SoulKanVas: Creative Mentoring For Emotional Wellbeing In TVET Education. Nurturing Minds, Building Futures.

Robson Jok Laeng Kolej Vokasional Kuching

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) students frequently experience academic pressure, emotional stress, and transitional challenges that may negatively affect their learning engagement and overall wellbeing. However, formal counselling services remain underutilised due to stigma, accessibility issues, and limited emotional literacy. This paper presents SoulKanVas, an innovative, creative peer-mentoring intervention designed to support students’ emotional wellbeing through art-based expression, guided reflection, and peer facilitation. Grounded in social and emotional learning (SEL) principles and aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 (Good Health and Well-Being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), SoulKanVas offers a non-clinical, inclusive, and scalable approach tailored to the TVET context. The paper details the conceptual framework, programme design, implementation strategy, innovation value, scalability, and expected impact, supported by visual posters for innovation competition dissemination.
