Everyone loves French fries-but nothing ruins the experience faster than cold, soggy fries. This common issue sparked the idea behind our project: to improve the way French fries are served and enjoyed, keeping them warm and crispy for longer. When you order French fries, there's nothing worse than the disappointment of getting them cold before you even get a chance to enjoy them. Studies show that French fries lose their heat and become soggy within minutes of being served (Cockerham. R, 2014). Whether you're at a restaurant, fast food joint, or enjoying fries at home, the issue remains the same: keeping them warm and crispy is a challenge. In addition to that, fries are often served in flimsy containers or paper bags that can easily tip over or get messy, leading to spilled fries and a frustrating experience (Johnson & Lee, 2022). These issues create a problem for both customers and businesses, who want to deliver the best experience possible. To identify the problem, we conducted both observation and interview, focusing on how fries are typically packaged, served, and consumed in different environments. Our three interviewee clients are students around the age of 20, who often eats on the go and values convenience and food quality. These individuals frequently encounter the problems of cold, soggy fries and unstable packaging during their meals. We use Shapr3D as the primary tool to create our prototype. It took approximately 2 to 3 days to become familiar with the software and start building a detailed, functional design. Our prototype is a specially designed French fry container that retains heat and prevents fries from becoming soggy. It includes an anti-slip base for added stability and is crafted to be both functional and portable-ideal for students and busy individuals who eat while commuting or multitasking. In conclusion, we hope this product can solve the common frustrations related to eating fries - keeping them warm, crispy, and easy to enjoy anytime, anywhere.
