SpiceComm Trainer is an interactive simulation-based application developed to enhance students’ understanding of electronic communication systems using LTspice. Initially designed to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tool was a digital alternative to conventional lab sessions during remote learning. Post-pandemic, the SpiceComm Trainer is vital in promoting self-directed learning, supporting pre-laboratory preparation, and enabling independent revision to strengthen practical understanding. The trainer features five core experiments: Amplitude Modulation (AM), Frequency Modulation (FM), Amplitude Shift Keying (ASK), Frequency Shift Keying (FSK), and Multiplexer/Demultiplexer (MUX/DEMUX), simulated through an intuitive LTspice interface. With its lightweight and accessible design, the trainer allows students to simulate, observe, and analyse circuit behaviours without relying on physical lab equipment. Currently used in the DEP30013 (Telecommunication System Fundamentals) course at Politeknik Ungku Omar, SpiceComm Trainer bridges theoretical learning with hands-on practice, making it a sustainable and innovative solution in technical education.
