ST2025: AI Assistive Spectacles

WINNIE LU JIA YIN Taylor's College

As the global population ages, more people are facing challenges caused by visual impairments, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease. To address these issues, our team proposes AI Assistive Spectacles, an intelligent and affordable wearable device designed to enhance independence, safety, and quality of life. The spectacles use artificial intelligence to assist users in their daily activities by helping them navigate their surroundings, recognize important objects and people, and receive reminders for essential tasks.

By providing real-time support and reducing reliance on caregivers, the device aims to improve accessibility and confidence for visually impaired individuals, elderly users, and those experiencing cognitive decline. Unlike many existing assistive technologies that are costly or limited in functionality, the AI Assistive Spectacles are designed to be practical, user-friendly, and affordable, making advanced assistive technology accessible to a wider community.
