ST959: Assets Management System

Muhammad Afiq Bin Asnawi UiTM Cawangan Kelantan

The PPAP Asset Management System is a web based solution that aims at increasing the efficiency and accountability of tracking inventory at Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Pahang (PPAP). The existing manual operations and disjointed spreadsheets frequently result in imprecise tracking, inconsistent tagging and the absence of real-time monitoring into the availability of assets. The project tackles these issues by centralizing the data in a secure MySQL database that is administered by a PHP interface.

The system brings several important functionalities such as automated generation of standardized 50mm x 40mm asset stickers, real-time notification feed of loan statuses and streamlined damage reporting module. In order to achieve system stability, a special Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) reasoning is provided in order to prevent the situation of administrative lockout due to unintended role changes.

The development is governed by a formal Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including Context Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), and Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD). The system is projected to greatly minimize the human error rate, give clear audit trail on Ketua Jabatan and Asset Officers, and streamline the entire lifecycle management of the organization assets.
