This research project examines the efficacy of indoor plants as biological air purifiers to address sick building syndrome caused by indoor Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). Synthesizing two decades of research peer-reviewed studies, findings demonstrate that specific plant species aggressively eliminate airborne toxins like benzene and formaldehyde. Beyond air quality, indoor vegetation actively enhances cognitive performance, accelerates reaction times, and significantly reduces physiological stress. In summary, both passive potted plants and active green-wall bio-filters must be embraced not as mere decor, but as essential, sustainable health technologies to optimize modern indoor environments.
