The SMART Emergency Response System is an AI-powered safety solution designed to enhance personal security in private areas such as school toilets, changing rooms, and elderly homes where conventional surveillance cameras cannot be installed. The project was inspired by increasing safety concerns, including violent incidents in schools and the growing number of senior citizens living alone.

The system uses AI voice recognition technology to detect emergency keywords spoken by users during dangerous situations. Once the SOS keyword is recognized, the system automatically activates a siren alarm, flashes warning lights, sends an SOS message with Google Map location, and contacts relevant authorities through IoT connectivity and text-to-speech technology. In addition, the camera system is only activated during emergencies to capture evidence while respecting privacy.

The project integrates hardware components such as Microbit, voice recognition module, WiFi module, Huskylens, relay, servo motor, neopixel LEDs, and siren to create a complete emergency response system. This innovation aims to reduce crime risks, improve emergency response time, and provide timely assistance to victims and elderly individuals.

Overall, the SMART Emergency Response System promotes safer environments and supports SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities by using technology to protect lives and improve community safety.
