Dual sensory impairment (DSI) refers to the presence of hearing and vision loss. Statistics show that at least 1.7 million people worldwide experience this disability, and it causes them to face many challenges in their lives (Saunders, n.d.). Another challenge that people with (DSI) experience is that they may face difficulties in the visual and hearing aspects when using their electronic devices. So, the problem is individuals with (DSI) face issues regarding colour differentiation and listening to audio material clearly. Therefore, our group has decided to tackle this problem by inventing software called LookHear. The objective of LookHear is to aid people with dual sensory impairment in improving their quality of life. The function of LookHear is that it improves device accessibility for users with dual impairments by adjusting visuals and offering a quick color blindness test for personalization. It features accurate auto-transcription with voice recognition, background noise filtering, and custom word input. An AI-powered sign language translator further supports inclusive communication. One of the LookHear’s benefits to society is workplace improvement where individuals with DSI can communicate better with their colleagues and to maintain a productive environment for everyone there. There are existing websites and apps that help people with these disabilities, but LookHear is the first visual-audio impairment aid kit software which allows customisation according to personal conditions with just one click.
