Conventional language instruction struggles tosustain engagement in multilingual learners, and digital tools rarely addressindigenous language needs. QuadraLingo Quest is a mobile game-based learningplatform integrating Malay, English, Mandarin, and Kadazan—an indigenouslanguage of Sabah, Malaysia. Developed through needs analysis, content design, and prototype testing, the platform applies Mayer's Multimedia Learning Theoryand gamification principles to support acquisition across all four languages. Thedesign prioritises equal structural treatment of Kadazan alongsideinternational languages. Anticipated outcomes include improved multilingualretention, sustained learner motivation, and increased exposure to Kadazanamong younger speakers, contributing to language competency development andindigenous heritage sustainability.
