Faraday’s Kit V2.0 is a transformative educational innovation aimed at demystifying Faraday’s Law of Electromagnetic Induction for pre-university students through an interactive, cost-effective, and sustainable approach. This dual-model teaching aid comprises the Sliding Magnet Kit (SMK) and Mutual Induction Kit (MIK), offering tangible demonstrations of electromagnetic principles using simple, accessible materials. Designed to overcome limitations of traditional theoretical instruction, the kits utilize bi-directional LEDs to visually represent induced current—eliminating the need for galvanometers and enabling clearer student comprehension.
At the heart of the project is a DIY power supply, ingeniously repurposed from discarded 12V modem adapters and buck converters—demonstrating sustainability through electronic waste reduction. Additional components such as recycled toilet paper cores and packaging materials serve as coil bases and light shields, reinforcing a message of resourcefulness and responsible consumption. Students actively engage in experimenting with the kits, bridging the gap between abstract physics concepts and real-world applications such as wireless charging and electric generators. Implementation across classrooms demonstrated exceptional outcomes: over 98% of students reported enhanced understanding, greater interest in physics, and increased confidence in applying theoretical knowledge.
Aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals—SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production)—Faraday’s Kit V2.0 exemplifies educational excellence, eco-conscious design, and impactful innovation. It not only deepens scientific understanding but also inspires creativity, critical thinking, and self-driven learning—hallmarks of 21st-century science education.
