Meet and greet an exceptional educational resource: a digital flipbook made with the Pixton comic-building application, which seeks to introduce the concepts of poetry and its appreciation with ease. Understanding the challenges most students encounter with conventional poetry teaching methods, this project seeks to address the visual aspects of poetry instruction like the rhyme scheme, meter, imagery, and figurative language through the use of captivating comics. The Pixton flip book conveys these ideas through sequential images and comic strips featuring simplified explanations with relatable text. This abstract describes the design and development of the flip book with particular focus on its sketches and the use of interactive functionalities, including buttons, which promote intuitive understanding and long-term retention of the material. Initial impressions indicate that this approach allows students to have favorable attitudes towards studying poetry while enhancing the intrigue towards its complex details through the use of visuals. This paper presents the discussion on the effectiveness of comic-based learning materials in transforming difficult subjects into more appealing content for students of varying competencies, learning profiles, and preferences.
