Used coffee grounds from the food and beverage industry have become one of the global wastes. Higher amount of coffee grounds waste not disposed properly after brewing. To decrease coffee waste, we have innovated face and body scrub using used coffee grounds and extra virgin coconut oil. This product is used to exfoliate the skin by removing dead cells, dirt and cleanses the skin pores. This innovation is to produce an herbal exfoliating scrub which contains antibacterial, antioxidant and moisturizing properties. Used coffee grounds contain properties that are good for skin, such as antioxidants. Extra virgin coconut oil in this product serves as a moisturizer and anti-inflammatory and provides antioxidant protection to the skin.
