This project introduces an eco-friendly fruit wrap developed from cotton cloth infused with beeswax, natural oils, resin, and activated charcoal as a sustainable alternative to conventional plastic packaging. The innovation was created to address increasing environmental concerns associated with single-use plastic waste and to provide an effective solution for maintaining the freshness and quality of fruits during storage. Conventional plastic packaging contributes significantly to pollution and often lacks reusable properties, creating a need for greener and more sustainable preservation methods. The fruit wrap functions by creating a protective layer around fruits, helping to reduce moisture loss and slow down the deterioration process. Beeswax acts as a natural coating that forms a breathable barrier, while natural oils and resin enhance flexibility, durability, and adhesive properties. Activated charcoal is incorporated to improve the wrap’s functionality through its ability to absorb unwanted odors and impurities, while also contributing mild antibacterial effects that may help reduce microbial growth on fruit surfaces. The use of this innovative fruit wrap can help extend fruit freshness, maintain quality, and reduce food waste. In addition, the product is reusable, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly, making it a practical and sustainable solution for food preservation and supporting a greener future.
