Turning Food Waste into Clean Energy for a Greener School addresses the large amount of food waste generated in school canteens, which contributes to landfill methane emissions and global warming. This project designs a system to collect food waste and convert it into biogas using a small sealed digester. Through anaerobic digestion, bacteria break down waste without oxygen, producing methane gas that can be used as cooking fuel. This innovation reduces landfill waste, lowers carbon emissions, and decreases reliance on external energy sources. It also raises students’ awareness of sustainable practices and promotes renewable energy use within the school environment.
