Conventional waste bins often cause hygiene issues such as germ transmission, unpleasant odors, waste overflow, and inefficient maintenance. To address these problems, BINOVA was developed as a smart automated waste management system that combines IoT, sensor technology, and automation. BINOVA uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect user presence and automatically open the lid through an Arduino-controlled servo motor, reducing physical contact. Another ultrasonic sensor monitors the waste level and displays the bin status using an LED indicator system. The IoT-enabled version can also send real-time notifications when the bin is full. Overall, BINOVA improves public hygiene, waste management efficiency, and environmental cleanliness, making it a practical and sustainable solution for schools and public spaces.
