Plastic straws may be small, but their environmental impact is massive. The issue with traditional plastic straws lies in their harmful environmental impact, non-recyclability, and contribution to global plastic waste. Although biodegradable alternatives are gaining popularity—with the market expected to grow at a CAGR of 6.2% from 2023 to 2030 (Mali, 2023)—current options like paper straws often lack durability and are uncomfortable to use. Based on our 5-hour observation conducted over 2 weeks at the Labuan Matriculation College cafeteria, we noticed that most students used plastic straws while enjoying their meals. Our target clients include the college students aged between 18-20 years old ,who value both convenience and environmental responsibility . To develop our prototype, we used an app called Shapr3D to design a detailed 3D model of our product. It took us 10 hours over the course of a week to learn the software and refine our skills in order to produce the best visual representation. Therefore , based on the problem statement we have create a product named EcoZeal, and our goal is to inspire a world where natural and essential solutions become the foundation of everyday life.
