The AquaCATCH project is a fun and important idea that helps us save water and take
care of our environment. We created a special system called the AquaCATCHer, which
collects rainwater and uses it to water plants. This project helps us learn how to use
water wisely, which is important for keeping our planet healthy. The AquaCATCH
project also helps us learn about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
(STEM). We use tools like the Arduino IDE to program sensors that measure how
much water we have. The Blynk apps lets us check the water levels on our phones,
ensuring that the collected rainwater can be efficiently used in hydroculture systems.
We also get to see how rainwater is collected, cleaned, and stored in a big tank, and
then used in a special garden where plants grow without soil. The AquaCATCHer
system provide rainwater as the nutritional medium for the hydroculture plant to thrive.
This project supports the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),
especially Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 11 (Sustainable Cities and
Communities), and Goal 13 (Climate Action). These goals help us understand why
saving water and protecting the environment are so important for everyone around the
world. This project is a team effort, schools, companies, and people in our community
are working together to make AquaCATCH a success. By working together, we can
teach others how to save water and take care of the environment. We hope that
schools and communities all over the world can use our AquaCATCHer system to help
protect our planet.
