AI EcoHero is an intelligent trash-sorting project using Google Teachable Machine and Pictoblox - Scratch. The system uses a camera to detect and classify waste items, which are paper, plastic, or metal, and automatically sorts them into the correct recycling bins on screen. Trained with real-life examples, the AI model enables this smart system to mimic how a real recycling robot might work. This interactive project not only highlights the potential of machine learning for environmental sustainability, but also shows that young minds can make a real difference with the right tools and imagination. Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, this project encourages recycling awareness and smart waste management. It also supports the 10-10 MySTIE framework, specifically under the Priority Area of Smart Cities and Transportation and Technology Drivers like Artificial Intelligence and Advanced Materials. By combining creativity, technology, and eco-consciousness, this project stands as a shining example of how children can lead innovation for a cleaner, smarter future.
