CocoQuill Oil Sorbent is a sustainable and biodegradable solution designed to address marine oil spill pollution. This innovation aimed to evaluate the oil absorption capacity, oil-water selectivity, and reusability performance of natural sorbents. Experimental results showed that the blend of chicken feathers and coconut fiber achieved high oil absorption capacity up to 16g/g, strong oil-water selectivity (> 85%), and retained over 70% efficiency after five reuse cycles. CocoQuill Oil Sorbent applied with hydrophobic and oleophilic concepts, enclosed in a porous mesh ball with a lightweight plastic core for buoyancy. The innovation offers an environmentally friendly, cost-effective, and practical approach for marine oil spill cleanup and waste reutilization.
