This project introduces a solar oven integrated with a solar panel, battery, and fan to demonstrate dual applications of solar energy: thermal energy for cooking and electrical energy for powering devices. The oven chamber was built using box, reflective foil, black paper for heat absorption, and a transparent cover to trap heat, while the solar panel connects to a battery that powers a DC fan to circulate hot air. Food tests with eggs showed faster cooking and more stable temperatures compared to a basic solar oven, proving improved efficiency and even heating.
The project supports SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action), while reflecting ESG values: environmentally by reducing carbon emissions, socially by offering accessible low-cost cooking solutions, and in governance by promoting responsible innovation and sustainability awareness. Future improvements include adding a charge controller to regulate the electricity flow between the solar panel, battery, and load to protect the battery and maximize efficiency. A temperature sensor for precise monitoring, adjustable reflector panels to maximize sunlight capture, and better insulation materials to retain heat longer, making the oven more versatile and efficient.
