Primary pupils often struggle to understand science concepts, such as internal structures or natural processes, because these concepts are abstract and difficult to visualise. International assessments like TIMSS and PISA have identified gaps in science education in Malaysia, highlighting the need for creative, engaging teaching strategies. An Augmented Reality (AR) flashcard called AR-Sains PriSMe was created to improve Level 2 (Years 4-6) primary students' comprehension of science. AR-Sains PriSMe supports curriculum delivery, enhances STEM learning, and addresses national priorities for high-quality education by making abstract science concepts interactive and engaging.
