ST1478: Torque Wrench With Digital Counter (TWDC)

HARINDRAN A/L DEVARAJAN Politeknik Banting Selangor

A torque wrench is crucial in aircraft maintenance, where accurate torque application ensures safety and performance. Conventional tools rely on manual methods, risking human error in counting rotations and verifying torque. This project introduces a torque wrench with a built-in digital counter to enhance accuracy and consistency. The device was designed in Autodesk Inventor, 3D-printed using HP-PLA, and integrated with sensors, a microcontroller, and an LED display. Arduino programming enabled real-time torque and rotation tracking with reset and debounce features. Prototype testing in a simulated workshop confirmed 70% reduced tightening errors and improved workflow, supporting safer aviation maintenance practic
