The Internet of Things (IoT) is a key innovation of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0), significantly impacting daily life. The concept of IoT must be implemented to enhance efficiency and convenience across various aspects of life, including security. The evolution of lock systems has progressed from mechanical to digital, and now smart lock systems are becoming increasingly popular. Therefore, the FriD SMART LOCK project was developed by integrating the IoT concept and biometric fingerprint systems via the FriD SMART LOCK application on Android. This project aims to enable users to control locks using their smartphones through Bluetooth connectivity. The FriD SMART LOCK employs the ESP32 microcontroller, functioning as the 'brain' of the system, while Arduino IDE and Android Studio are used for function and app development. This lock system can be applied in various settings such as residential doors to ensure enhanced security and provide faster, more efficient access. Research findings indicate that the implementation of this technology can improve security levels and reduce the risk of losing physical keys, while giving users full digital control over their lock access.
