YS562: Automatic Fire Extinguisher

Bianca Tan Yi Jing SMJK HUA LIAN

This innovative automatic fire extinguisher project demonstrates a cost-effective, Arduino-free safety system that uses an infrared flame sensor to achieve near-instantaneous fire suppression. By utilizing a simplified electronic design, it provides a practical alternative to complex microcontrollers for localized fire safety.

By bypassing traditional thermal bulbs in favor of an electronic sensor and a simple relay circuit, the system can detect a flame signature within milliseconds. This trigger immediately activates a submersible water pump, ensuring that the response time is significantly faster than standard heat-activated sprinklers.

This triggers a targeted water spray through a directional nozzle to extinguish the fire at its source before it can spread. Designed as a high-speed, localized solution for unmanned areas like kitchens or electrical panels, this prototype showcases how smart electronic integration can provide reliable, 24/7 protection with minimal complexity.
