Depletion of non-renewable energy sources had triggered the search for renewable energy sources such as agro-waste. This present work shows the facile synthesis of iron modified biochar from waste mango kernel (Fe-MKB) via pyrolysis at 500C for only 30 min for the adsorption of methylene blue. The effort was in-line with the National Biomass Action Plan, that urges a transformation from biomass waste to benign products for a sustainable future and health. Without a doubt, the work resulted in an active adsorbent from biowaste for a high removal percentage of methylene blue.
