Eco Cool Brick: A Sustainable Passive Cooling Brick for Heat-Resilient Communities addresses rising temperatures and heat waves in Malaysia, where concrete surfaces trap heat and increase indoor temperatures. Dependence on air-conditioning raises electricity costs and carbon emissions, making cooling unaffordable for low-income communities. This project designs and evaluates a modular porous cooling brick (Eco Cool-X) using recycled agricultural waste. The brick incorporates airflow channels and surface micro-grooves to enhance passive cooling. By optimizing porosity, the system improves heat reduction under tropical conditions. This sustainable solution reduces energy use, lowers costs, and promotes environmentally friendly cooling for resilient communities.
