The future job markets that accounting graduates will encounter are becoming progressively

intricate and uncertain. There is a growing expectation for higher education institutions to

adopt a more comprehensive and unified approach that includes creativity, critical thinking,

and problem-solving skills for students' effective learning. Integrated Case Study (ICS) and

Advanced Accounting Information Systems (AAIS) are advanced and theory-based subjects

that are compulsory and offered to final-year Accounting undergraduates at Universiti Sultan

Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). Due to the subject’s nature and previous traditional teaching style,

students found the subject matter too complex and difficult to understand, thus limiting

students' learning experiences. Therefore, an innovative teaching aid is introduced, known as

IMAGINE workbook, to assist students in learning and hence enhance creative, critical, and

problem-solving skills in learning those subjects. The workbook emphasises images and

drawings instead of words to show different views of real-world situations, problems, or

concepts, enabling students to have fun learning and be creative and critical in solving

problems. The workbook is vital in enhancing the pedagogical aspect of teaching theory-based

subjects and essential for improving final-year BAC students' soft skills – critical, creative, and

problem-solving to prepare them for future employability.
