This innovation is an AI-assisted educational animated video developed to enhance English language learning among Year 2 pupils through Topic 7 from the Super Minds textbook, focusing on clothing vocabulary and moral values. The innovation was designed to address several common challenges in primary English classrooms, including pupils’ limited vocabulary mastery, difficulty maintaining focus during lessons, and the lack of contextualised learning experiences in conventional teaching materials. These challenges often reduce pupils’ engagement and hinder meaningful language acquisition.
To overcome these issues, the innovation transforms textbook content into an interactive animated learning experience using a combination of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, including Kling AI, PixVerse AI, Hailuo AI, and MindVideo. The animated video integrates colourful visuals, clear language expressions, engaging sound effects, and age-appropriate storytelling to create a fun and meaningful learning environment for young learners. Through contextualised scenarios, pupils are exposed to clothing-related vocabulary in authentic situations while simultaneously learning positive moral values embedded within the storyline.
The integration of animation, visual storytelling, audio stimulation, and AI-generated multimedia elements supports vocabulary retention, listening comprehension, pronunciation development, and classroom participation. The carefully designed duration and presentation style also help sustain pupils’ attention and motivation throughout the learning process. Findings from the implementation indicated increased pupil engagement, improved vocabulary mastery, stronger listening skills, and greater confidence in using English during classroom activities.
Overall, this innovation demonstrates how AI-assisted educational animation can transform traditional textbook-based instruction into a more interactive, learner-centred, and meaningful learning experience. The innovation supports 21st-century teaching practices and highlights the potential of AI technology in enhancing language learning among primary school pupils.
