ABSTRACT
Plastic pollution is a major environmental problem caused by the excessive use of single-use plastic packaging. Plastics take hundreds of years to decompose, while organic waste such as lush and withered grass is often discarded. This project aims to develop a biodegradable pouch using these underutilized natural materials.
The objectives are to design the pouch, test its strength, water resistance, and decomposition rate, and explore its potential for low-cost production. Grass was collected, cleaned, dried, and mixed with natural binders before being moulded and tested.
Greeny Bloom offers a lightweight, compostable packaging alternative for dry goods and small items. It reduces plastic waste, promotes sustainable practices, and demonstrates strong potential for eco-friendly commercial use.
