Abstract
The objective of this project is: 1) To study the extraction of papaya seeds, Garcinia
atroviridis fruits, and Rhodomyrtus tomentosa leaves against the bacterium Staphylococcus
aureus using distilled water and ethanol as solvents; 2) to compare the effectiveness of the
extracts from Papaya seeds, Garcinia atroviridis fruits, and Rhodomyrtus tomentosa leaves in
inhibiting the bacterium using distilled water and ethanol as solvents. The experimental results
indicate that the Garcinia atroviridis extract obtained using distilled water exhibits the highest
efficacy in inhibiting the bacteria, achieving an inhibition zone of 12 millimeter. Furthermore,
when using ethanol, the Garcinia atroviridis extract at a ratio of 1:2 demonstrates the best
inhibitory effect on the bacteria, resulting in an inhibition zone of 22.00 millimeter.
