KitarNow is a free to use mobile application developed by Universiti Putra Malaysia Sarawak to improve recycling access, coordination, and traceability in response to persistent waste management challenges in Malaysia. Available on both Android and iOS, the platform enables organizations such as schools, institutes, businesses, and agencies to record recyclable materials by category and weight, manage stock, and track recycling activity through a structured digital workflow, while registered recycling vendors can browse available materials and contact sellers directly for collection and recovery. By integrating recyclable listing, collection coordination, and activity tracking within one system, KitarNow reduces the fragmentation common in conventional recycling practice, transforms recyclable waste into visible, traceable, and more accessible stock, and supports a more practical circular economy by keeping recoverable materials within productive use pathways. The platform also supports multi language access and generates structured data that can strengthen planning, monitoring, and reporting. KitarNow was officially launched in Bintulu on 20 January 2026. In its first month, 986.04 kg of materials was recorded, with 791.92 kg successfully recycled. A total of 32 organizations registered, including 5 recycling companies, demonstrating early adoption, practical functionality, and strong potential to support a more organized local circular economy.
